Ideally all paternity tests should include the mother’s DNA samples. It may sound somewhat illogical because you are looking to confirm the paternity of the child. However, having the mother’s sample means that we can neatly map out and exclude her share of genetic inheritance in the DNA of the tested child. We can still provide accurate results without the mother sample but with it, we can give you even more accurate results. If we test without the mother, you can expect a 99.9% probability if the tested father is the biological father. If we test with the mother, this probability increases to 99.99%.
There are a vast range of sample we can test. You will find a list of the most common samples we test on our website but do encourage you to contact us should you have any other sample in hand that is not listed on our website. We can provide you with a few tips: fresher and more recent samples are more likely to give good results. The way you store, package and collect the samples is also extremely important as this will affect the chances of success in terms of laboratory extraction.
To submit samples other than the standard saliva samples collected with oral swabs (e.g. hair, blood, semen and cigarette butts) please visit our page on discreet DNA samples.
