DNA Legal Paternity Test for Court use in Canada

Legal DNA Testing

Need court admissible DNA test results? easyDNA Canda offers legal DNA testing that follows the chain of custody required for legal purposes. If you have any court case involving child support payments, requiring a legal proof of paternity or other such examples, then a legal test is what you need.

easyDNA offers DNA immigration testing that is accepted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). The results of this test are accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).

For a legal test to be valid, the testing must be performed at an accredited DNA testing laboratory. At easyDNA we guarantee that your tests will be processed by a highly experienced and properly accredited DNA laboratory.

Once the samples have been processed, your results will be ready and emailed to your chosen email address in 3-5 working days. A notarised copy (signed by the laboratory Notary Public) will be sent 10 days later.

As mentioned, a DNA sample collection procedure must be rigidly adhered to in order to ensure the result of your test has legal validity. This procedure is known as the Chain of Custody.

Step one: How to order your legal DNA test

Order your DNA test by going to our order page. The cost of our legal DNA paternity report in Canada is of $595.00 We will send our kit directly to the sampler once you have confirmed your order. Our kit contains sterile swabs, forms and instructions as well as a pre-addressed envelope for your chosen sampler to return your samples. The legal sample collection kit will be prepared according to your requirements and dispatched promptly. Order Here.

Step two: Book appointment with an approved DNA Sampler

A proper chain of custody requires sample collection and verification of the people tested by a neutral third party. This neutral third party is known as the sampler. The sample can be any person exercising a profession. Typically, people choose a doctor or a nurse to act as the neutral third party sampler. The true identity of every person submitting samples must be confirmed by the sampler.

Kindly note that the you might need to pay a sampler's fee. This fee is not covered in the cost of our legal test.

Step three: Prepare all the necessary paper work

On the day on which your appointment for DNA sample collection has been fixed, you will need to take with you a number of things.

All test participants will need to take some form of legally accepted identification. Acceptable identification documents include passports and ID cards. For children, a birth certificate will be needed as proof of identity. For any suitable identification chosen, test participants will also need to take photocopies of their chosen form of identification.

Clear, passport sized photos are also required. Make sure that not part of your face is covered by any hat or head gear.

Step four: Identification and DNA sample collection

All DNA samples will be collected directly by the sampler using the sterile mouth swabs inside our kit. Anyone being sampled will at no point by able to come into contact or tamper with the swabs in any way. Once the saliva samples have been collected, they need to be left to dry. Your chosen sampler will then proceed to seal the samples and send them off for laboratory testing.

The Sampler will endorse the passport-sized photos you have provided as follows:

  1. “I [Samplers Name] certify that this is a true likeness of ... [person’s name]”
  2. Samplers SIGNATURE
  3. DATE
