The term ‘Paternity’ refers to the biological role of being father or simply the legally recognised kinsma to a child. Paternity can thus exist between a father and his adopted child if the father is the legally recognised guardian.  DNA Paternity Testing is a common and reliable method of confirming the existence of biological relationship between an alleged father and his child.  The DNA paternity test does not necessitate the mother’s DNA although having the mother’s samples is always recommended to provide a stronger results. Paternity Testing can be done for either legal or curiosity purposes.
