Sending Discreet DNA Samples - Terms and Guidelines

If you are thinking about using a discreet DNA sample for your DNA testing requirements, then we suggest you read the guidelines below for additional information.

1. The prices indicated in the Forensic DNA page are to be added to the cost of the DNA test selected. We also recommend that you contact our customer support team in advance of sending the samples so that we can discuss the case and confirm the total cost.
     
2. We can use the DNA profile obtained from your discreet sample for any of our tests. The origin of the DNA profile is not relevant to the overall  accuracy of the DNA results.
    
3. easyDNA cannot guarantee unconditionally that the extraction process will generate a useful profile as this is dependent on the type and quality of the sample. A secondary extraction process is guaranteed by our accredited laboratory where the first extraction is not successful. The charge has to be paid whether the extraction of the DNA profile is successful or otherwise.
    
4. Due to the nature of the sample, it is not always possible to confirm the donor of the sample. Hence in most cases the discreet samples can only be used for the standard curiosity testing. Only in cases where the donor can be officially authenticated by a third party witness can the samples be used in a court admissable paternity test.
    
5. We may apply discounts when you send more than one discreet DNA sample, however these discounts are applied on a individual case basis.
    
6. Your results will be  forwarded normally within 5-7 working days, but can change depending on the quality of the sample provided.
    
7. Where possible, we strongly recommend the sample collection is performed through the oral swabs we supply in our DNA testing kit to increase the chance of obtaining DNA from the sample to conclude the test. Of course we understand this is not always possible.
    
8. The person submitting a discreet samples assumes full responsibility for sending these samples and purchasing the DNA test.
