DNA Testing Might Help You Determine if Your Spouse or Lover is Cheating

DNA testing is used for more than just establishing biological family relationships. Relationships are getting tougher and tougher for most couples as economic times grow harder. Infidelity seems to be on the rise, or at least the suspicion of such infidelity, as partners attempt to find an escape from the reality of their day to day lives. If you or someone you know suspects their spouse or significant other of cheating, then DNA testing just might be what you’ve been looking for to provide some answers.

In this ever-changing world of ours, the DNA test has become one of the most sought-after scientific evidences available in many instances. In this rapidly changing, technologically advanced world of ours, it is no longer enough to “think” that we have the answers to many questions. It has now become necessary to “know” that we have the answers and quite often the only way to truly “know” is to prove through scientific testing that such answers are undeniably correct and accurate. Through DNA testing we have been able to do just that.

International DNA paternity testing firm easyDNA has noticed a significant increase in the number of tests carried out involving people from different countries. This cross-border testing has become more apparent as the company has continued to expand internationally, and the question is whether or not it is the expansion of their global reach that has led to the greater frequency of this type of testing.

A DNA test is carried out when the biological relationship between two individuals is in doubt or in dispute. The most common of these is paternity testing, used to prove the biological relationship between an alleged father and a child. Although the test is a relatively simple one, samples being taken for analysis using an oral swab, complications can arise if the potential father is deceased. What, then, are the options available to determine the identity of the true father?

The most commonly known is to prove whether or not a particular person is the father of a child, especially in cases where this is disputed. A paternity dispute, however, is not the only reason that a paternity test would be needed. There are many cases where a father may not dispute the fact but may still need proof for legal reasons.

Recent adaptations in DNA testing mean that a partner can determine whether foreign male or female genetic material is present on a particular item.

Mitochondrial DNA or MtDNA is DNA found in cell mitochondria. Mitochondria are cell organelles responsible for providing energy and are in fact called the cell’s ‘power-house’. When we talk of DNA what we normally refer to is the DNA we find in the cell nucleus and not mitochondrial DNA. Mitochondrial DNA testing finds its use in ancestry testing and genealogy; the two being closely related fields. This kind of DNA is passed through the maternal line to both males and females, but it is only females who pass it to their off spring.

Mouth swabs are cotton or polyester tipped sterile applicator which has various uses within the field of medicine. In the DNA testing, we talk about oral or buccal swabs which are applicators used to rapidly collect DNA samples from the inside of the mouth. The procedure is absolutely painless and non invasive and involves rubbing the swab on the inner cheeks of the mouth to collect cells containing the DNA which will then be analysed. There are no risks involved with type of sample collection making it the preferred method in most types of DNA testing. Unlike conventional blood tests, mouth swabs are painless and equally accurate. The mouth swabs are provided in the home-kit which most DNA testing companies provide. Our Sample Collection guide provides more information regarding swabs.

Useful Information About DNA Maternity Tests

A DNA maternity test may be required for many different reasons. Cases vary from those searching for birth parents, to those needing proof of a biological relationship for immigration purposes. Working in the exact same way as a DNA paternity test, a maternity test will compare DNA markers of a child and an alleged mother.

In adoption cases, a child may grow up wanting to know the identity of their “real” or birth parents. Some adopted children suffer with identity issues and feel that meeting a birth parent will help solve this. Others may just be curious or need information on a family tree. Whatever the circumstances, once they believe they have located a parent, a DNA maternity test is the only certain way knowing they have found their biological mother.
