DNA Profile Testing

At easyDNA we offer you the possibility of ordering your own Personal DNA Profile which is unique to yourself. The DNA profile is at the basis of all our DNA Testing because apart from providing identification of a person it can also be used to determine biological relations between individuals by comparing their DNA. All our testing is performed through the analysis of 16 Different Genetic Markers which will be shown on your DNA Profile result that will be sent to you when the analysis is completed.

Uses for your DNA Profile

The DNA Profiling Service will generate a profile that is unique to the individual and therefore clearly be used for a variety of purposes that range from identification of human remains to confirming rightful claims on an inheritance. In such events having a pre-existing DNA profile can facilitate the identification of individuals involved in the case as well as close relatives.

The service can therefore be useful to organisations such as insurance companies, security services companies, legal services companies (e.g. lawyers and notaries) as well as private individuals such as individuals with large estates, corporate executives and personnel in high risk positions.

How does the DNA profiling service work?

All our DNA profiles are processed by our internationally accredited DNA Testing Laboratory. The results are therefore highly accurate, and are the same as the profiles used in DNA Forensic applications for human identification purposes. Your DNA profile is normally sent to you within 3-5 Working Days from when the samples arrive at the laboratory. The report will include a detail of your unique 16 marker DNA profile.

easyDNA offers different types of DNA Profile Testing :

DNA Profile for Personal Information and Use

Once you order your profile we will send you our DNA collection the kit. Once the samples are received they will be analysed by the laboratory and the DNA profile is issued. The document can be used for informative purposes but has no legal validity. The cost of the Informative DNA Profile is CAD $299.00 for one person.

DNA Profile for Legal/Official Purposes

If you require a DNA Profile for Legal or Official purposes, then the collection of the samples has to be done through the proper Chain-of-Custody procedures. For such a test, a special kit will be sent to the client and the sampling should preferably be done by a qualified medical practitioner. He will be responsible for the verification and handling of the samples.

Upon completion of the analysis, easyDNA will send you a notarized copy of the DNA profile. This can then be retained in a secure location or deposited with your legal advisor. The cost of the Legal DNA Profile is CAD $450.00 for one person.
